If you are installing a new bathroom in Calpe, you need an experienced plumber who can plan and install the water supply, waste pipes, drainage, valves, and connections for showers, baths, toilets, basins, and other bathroom fixtures.
100% Plumbing is based in Calpe and carries out bathroom plumbing installations for homeowners, landlords, property developers and renovation projects across the Marina Alta. We cover the plumbing side of the work: supply, waste, drainage and fixture connections.
Bathroom plumbing should be planned before walls, floors, and finishes are completed. The position of the toilet, shower, basin, bath, and other fixtures affects where water and waste pipes need to run, so getting the layout right early can help avoid unnecessary changes later in the renovation.

What plumbing is needed for a new bathroom?
A new bathroom normally needs both water supply and drainage connections. Depending on the design, plumbing work may include:
- hot and cold water supply pipes;
- waste and drainage pipework;
- toilet connections;
- basin and vanity plumbing;
- shower or bath connections;
- isolation valves;
- connections for thermostatic or mixer valves;
- relocation of existing pipes;
- preparation for new bathroom fixtures.
The exact installation depends on the bathroom layout and whether the project is a completely new bathroom or a renovation of an existing one.
When should the plumber be involved in a bathroom renovation?
Ideally, the plumber should be involved before major building and finishing work begins. Early planning makes it easier to confirm where the main fixtures will be positioned and whether the existing water and drainage connections can support the new layout.
This is particularly important if you are:
- moving the toilet;
- relocating a shower or bath;
- adding an extra basin;
- converting a room into a bathroom;
- changing the position of water or waste pipes;
- installing new hot water connections;
- renovating an older bathroom with ageing pipework.
Making these decisions before tiling and finishing can reduce disruption and help the renovation progress more smoothly.
Can existing bathroom plumbing be reused?
Sometimes, yes. If the existing pipework is in good condition and the new bathroom layout is similar to the old one, some water and waste connections may be reused.
Pipework may be reused when
- it is in good condition;
- the new layout is similar to the old one;
- the existing connections still serve the planned fixtures.
It may need replacing if there are signs of
- corrosion;
- recurring leaks;
- poor water pressure;
- damaged connections;
- inadequate drainage;
- previous repairs in several areas.
A plumbing inspection before the renovation begins can help determine which parts of the existing system are suitable to keep and which should be updated.

Can plumbing be moved for a new bathroom layout?
Yes. Water and waste pipes can often be relocated to accommodate a different bathroom design. For example, you may want to move a toilet to another wall, replace a bath with a walk-in shower, reposition a basin, or create an additional bathroom in another part of the property.
The feasibility depends on factors such as the existing pipe routes, drainage falls, floor construction, available access, and connection points.
Because drainage relies on correct pipe sizing and fall, relocating toilets and waste pipes usually requires more planning than moving simple hot and cold water supplies.
What should be checked before bathroom plumbing is installed?
Before installation begins, it is useful to assess the wider plumbing system rather than only the new fixtures. A plumber may need to check:
- existing water pressure;
- condition of supply pipes;
- drainage capacity;
- hot water availability;
- pipe sizes;
- valve locations;
- access for maintenance;
- whether existing pipes need replacing.
If the property has older or corroded plumbing, carrying out necessary fontanería general work during the renovation may be more practical than reopening finished walls later.
Does a new bathroom need changes to the hot water system?
Sometimes. Adding an extra shower, bath, or bathroom can increase the property’s hot water demand. If the existing system is already close to its capacity, the new bathroom may expose problems such as low hot water pressure, inconsistent temperature, or hot water running out too quickly.
In that situation, the existing sistemas de agua caliente setup may also need to be assessed as part of the project. This can be particularly relevant in larger villas, holiday properties, and rental accommodation where several bathrooms may be used at the same time.
What affects the cost of bathroom plumbing?
There is no single price for bathroom plumbing, because the work depends on the property and the layout. These are the factors that usually make the biggest difference:
Usually keeps the work simpler
- the new layout matches the old one;
- existing pipework is in good condition;
- fixtures stay in the same positions;
- the hot water system already has spare capacity.
Usually increases the work
- moving the toilet or the waste pipes;
- corroded or ageing supply pipes;
- converting a room into a new bathroom;
- changes needed to the hot water system;
- limited access to existing pipe routes.
The most reliable way to know is an inspection before the work starts, so the pipework and the planned layout can be assessed together.
